My local charity of the week is Dressability, a brilliant charity that supports the clothing needs of individuals with disabilities and those with limited dexterity.
Dressability provides a personal, tailored, and bespoke service developing practical solutions to everyday problems.
By adapting people’s clothing and not their style, Dressability helps their clients to maintain their independence and enjoy a sense of well-being based on their own personal choices.
This service is provided on a personal basis sensitive to the specific needs of their range of clientele.
Dressability is a registered charity, established in 1998 and offering heavily subsidised alterations to those who need support.
Clients are welcome to visit the charity at their fully accessible premises and for those who lack transport, provision of an outreach service is available.
Dressability is on the lookout for new clothes with tags, fabric, and haberdashery, which can be used for their adaptation work, and to produce samples highlighting what they do.
The charity has recently recruited a volunteer to run their online sales and would also love to hear from anyone who has items that they could sell to raise funds.
