My local charity of the week is Swindon Trauma Group. This excellent group have been working hard to support local people with PTSD for thirteen years, as well as educating people on the traumatic effects of war and offering advice on ways of dealing with it.
Swindon Trauma Group also raise public awareness into the debilitating condition of Gulf War Syndrome.
This local charity works with individuals and the public and private sectors to educate and help people understand the conditions through conferences and workshops.
The group’s annual conference will take place this coming Friday, 7th October at Lydiard House Hotel. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘The Way Forward, History and Support in Relation to the “Invisible Injuries”: Post Trauma Stress (PTS) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
