South Swindon MP Sir Robert Buckland has been assisting the Wiltshire Turkish Community here in Swindon with their relief efforts following the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and northern Syria.
Following an urgent request for winter tents from the Wiltshire Turkish Community, Sir Robert has been in touch with Mountain Warehouse today, and received the following brilliant response from CEO Mark Neale:
“We have decided to donate all of our profits from sales tomorrow, at all of our 264 stores, as well as online sales, to the DEC campaign for the earthquake.”
Sir Robert said:
“Thank you to all at Mountain Warehouse for this wonderful effort. I hope that other businesses will be inspired to support our local Turkish communities here in the UK, as they provide urgent assistance to those affected in Turkey.”
A collection point has been set up at the Wiltshire Turkish Community Centre here in Swindon, however, details of the donations required, as well as deadlines for delivery, are constantly changing as transport is arranged.
